{Wedding & Party Inspiration} Blueberry Lemonade Inspiration Board

Monday, May 23, 2011

Happy Monday!
This coming weekend we have the pleasure of designing and coordinating two events.  One of the events will be the "at home" wedding reception for our Negril bride.  The couple wanted the at home reception to be have elements of the bride's southern roots.   We are using lace, mason jars, doilies and just about anything else that reminds you of the south.  The main inspiration for this event are blue hydrangea.  This symbolizes a childhood memory for the bride of flowers that grew outside her grandmother’s home. The special “sparkle” to this is that we even arranged to have some of the flowers from her grandmother’s trees transported to this event!! Another special touch will be an old-fashioned lemonade stand with all of the fixings, so this inspiration board is so affectionately called...Blueberry Lemonade!
Enjoy!

{Trend Report} Top Three Wedding Trends for 2011

Monday, March 7, 2011

Happy Monday!
I know this blog has been a bit slow the past few weeks but we're back!  It's been a really busy season for SED and we've been working hard on bringing you even more offerings and lots of event and wedding inspiration.
With Spring on the horizon, the 2011 wedding season has officially begun and today we are thrilled to announce our top three wedding trend picks for 2011.

1}  Vintage & Glam - The return to vintage in weddings is here to stay.  Brides are taking cues from what was old and making it new by adding simple modern twist.  Adding touches of glam including luxurious linens and crystals to a vintage themed wedding will truly bring a personalized touch.

2} A Royal Affair  - With the upcoming royal wedding of Prince William and Catherine Middleton we are bound to see more influences of regal and grand decor.  Large scale candelabras embellished with beautiful flowered centerpieces accompanied by rich jewel tones make this wedding truly exquisite.  While the below inspiration board features beautiful shades of blue, given the website for the royal wedding, we may see our favorite color purple as a predominant color in this wedding.

3} The Social Network - Social media has become a major part of almost every wedding.  Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn ....  all of these social media tools have had a major impact on every industry.  Couples are using social networking tools to communicate with their wedding party, vendors and also to share their wedding planning experience with their friends and families.  Wedding websites are here to stay, however, now we are seeing couples create Facebook and Twitter pages as well.  - Are you connected? How about this Save The Date FB page?  Clever!
