{Featured Party} Jungle Safari 1st Birthday Party

Wednesday, February 23, 2011

When Brittany from GreyGrey designs posted this party I knew immediately that I wanted to featured here on The Sparkle Spot. Brittany did a FANTASTIC job creating this Jungle Safari 1st birthday party.  From the mini banana pudding parfaits (is parfait a girl word) to that great grass skirt table cloth, this is one fab party!  What a lucky birthday boy!
Thank you Brittany for allowing us to share this fabulous party and go on over to GreyGrey Designs for more pictures and details!

{Real Party} Pamper Me Princess Spa Birthday Party

Pamper Me Princess Spa Party
{as seen on Amy Atlas and Kara's Party Ideas *insert squeal*}

It is with great pleasure that we share with you this fabulous "Pamper Me Princess Spa" birthday party that we planned back in November.  We've been sitting on our hands waiting to showcase this party.  The owner of Dollin It Up Salon and Spa contacted us about providing services to plan her daughter's 5th birthday party.  Her instructions were, "it must be special and it must be grand!"   Dollin It Up Spa is located in Lorton, Virginia and is just the cutest little spa you could ever think of for little girl parties but we had to make Miss Kennedy's party stand out from the rest!

{The Decor'}
As you enter the Dollin It Up Spa you are immediately hit with beautiful shades of pink and green color throughout the room.   There are manicure and pedicure stations, make your own bubble bath stations and all types of "Fun" stations throughout the spa.   My challenge was how do we take this spa to the next level, its already beautiful.   We came in and did a little re-arranging of the stations, brought in some special table linens and tables to make the room look somewhat different.
We love our tulle pom poms but this party we wanted to try something different.  So we hung tons of paper pom poms throughout the room in shades of pink and green, particularly over the dessert table and place settings.

{The Favors}
When designing the favors bags we worked together to come up with a few things that every princess must have.  We designed the favor bag design to match the invitations I created and CocoaBabies printed the canvas bags for us.  We also had monogrammed bath robes made for each of the girls by Olive to Sew
{The Tables}
When we thought about the tables our client said that she loved the party that Amy Atlas did for Brooke Shields daughter Grier with the personalized place mats, tiara's and jewels. So we made each girl a personalized placemat.  We added custom napkins rings, tiara's, wands and gem rings for each girl.  The centerpieces were these lovely manzanita trees spray painted green with paper flowers hanging from them.  When we described them to our client, she was a little apprehensive... we told her to trust us.. and she loved how beautiful these turned out.

{The Desserts}
The focal point of the dessert table was this gorgeous princess castle cake.  We created a beautiful stand for the cake by wrapping a crate in foam and then fabric and embellishing with ribbon.  This is a project that anyone can do.  Then we added all types of candy in pink and green!
And to our Lead Creative Designer (who prefers to remain nameless) Thank you for all of your hard work on this event!  We couldn't have done it with you!

{Real Party} Marley's Sweet Shoppe - 1st Birthday Party

Monday, September 27, 2010

Happy Monday!

I'm so happy to share with you pictures from Marley's Sweet Shoppe 1st Birthday Party.  Last week I declared it "sweets" week on The Sparkle Spot highlighting a few of the parties that inspired me as I planned this party for my sweet precious Marley.

Without further adieu, welcome to Marley's Sweet Shoppe!

**  The Entry**
Marley has two ice cream stands for this party and this was the one that Mommy aka Me built for her!  My mom (Gigi) made the sign on top.  That's a cute pink, white and brown tulle pom pom for the ice cream scoops! :)
Remember that wreathe that my mom made for Alice in Wonderland, well she made one for Sweet Shoppe with ice cream cones!
That's tulle! :)  She's so creative!

**  Favor Table **
The favor table.  Ice cream cones filled with goodies!

Lots of goodies!
"Thank You for Making My Life Sweet Marley!"  Dream big honey!

** The Decor **
You know that tulle pom poms I'm in love with.  I decided to make them look like ice cream cones this time!  Super cute right!

Strawberry, Chocolate and Vanilla cones!

**  The Sweets **

I used my brand new Bakerella book to make these Ice Cream Cones cakes pops!
 Think she would approve?
My niece is so silly!  Oops, I dropped it!

I am so happy with how the dessert table turned out!  The Cake Pops were a HUGE hit!

** The Grand Finale**

The Ice Cream Stand
My husband and brother made this stand for Marley!  I saw it on the HWTM (featured it here last week) and fell in love! I saw these beautiful ruffled streamers on How Does She blog and had to make them.

Drum roll please...... OK can you tell how excited I am about this!
I wanted it to look like a child had written the sign!

The ruffled streamers!

Ice Cream Cone Centerpiece!
Birthday girl with Auntie!
I want some sprinkles Mommy!
I know I'm biased but isn't she PRECIOUS!
There I am serving it up!  I hate being in pics!
And finally... "The Sweet Shoppe Girls"
These were the aprons that my mom surprised me with!  We all wore them including my sister, mom, niece and goddaughter!
One last thing, it's funny that I decided on a Sweet Shoppe theme for Marley's party because even though she is the world sweetest baby, she hates sweets!  LOL
This is her face after tasting the Smash Cake! Priceless!

After two large parties back to back...its time for rest!
