{We're Back - Real Party} Christie Rock's 40th Celebration

Happy Monday!  

We're back this week with a new real celebration.  Christie contacted SED back in April to get some preliminary information about her upcoming special celebration and then we she contacted us again at the beginning of August, we were thrilled!   We were able to find the perfect location, perfect vendors for this "39 & Still Holding Event" within a week! 

The Starwood aLoft Hotel in Ashburn, Virginia was absolutely perfect! The modern and trendy decor fit right in with our theme of "Christie Rocks 40!"

A big big BIG thank you to our new Creative Director, Robin who led this event on her own.  Robin has been "behind the scenes" part of SED since our inception and we are thrilled that she has agreed to join us "officially" as our Creative Director.  Thanks Robin!

{Sparkling Inspiration} Celebrating Independence - Desserts!

Happy Monday

Happy Monday from SED! Some people say sequels aren’t as great as the first part, but we prove that theory wrong by bringing you Part Duex of our Independence Party photo shoot. And the sweet part is that we are focusing right on the sweets!!! We’ve all seen the new trend of using indoor furniture for outside events so SED tapped into this by using a beautiful rustic dresser found in a local thrift store. We decided to use it just as is and not refinish it and it turned out to be a great focal piece for the shoot.

Now moving onto the desserts…we did run into a classic mishap with our whoopee pies, the cream inside decided it just wanted to be on the outside on this hot day but we still decided to use them anyway because you know what…sometimes you have to go with what you got and imperfection can be perfect!! We used our motto…K.I.S.S – Keep it Sugary Sweet! Check out the desserts that took this party to the NEXT level.

{Real Wedding Celebration} Meet the Haglers

Happy Monday! 

Today, we are excited to share photographs from one of our latest events.  In April we had the pleasure of planning the destination wedding of Robin & Sly in Negril Jamaica.  We were even more delighted when the lovely couple chose us to also help with the "at home" celebration.  Robin wanted it to represent her "country" heritage and most importantly have blue hydrangea from her grandmother's yard.  We were up to the task!

There is nothing like freshly squeezed lemonade on a hot day, complete with organic fruit syrups in mango, strawberry and blueberry! 

The kids table was designed with colorful bandana wrapped snack packs and animal plates.  The kids munched on pretzels and boston baked beans.

{Real Wedding} Yolanda + James = A Jazz Brunch Wedding

This weekend we had the absolute joy of coordinating the wedding of James and Yolanda.  We have worked with them since last September and seeing this wedding become a reality was pure joy for Team Sparkle. We created this inspiration board for them called Pink Champagne and well as all of the stationery for the wedding. 

We wanted to make sure that all 200+ guests had a fantastic experience, so we always put "love" and "sparkle" in all of the details.  From the luxurious calla lily and hydrangea flowers centerpieces to the 4 layer multi-flavor cake and the 10 piece jazz band, a fun time was had by all.  Here are a few of our "amateur" shots. {Real Celebration} Bringing In 40 With Style - Birthday Celebration

Today we are so delighted to share with you some images from one of this weekend's events.  We had a busy busy weekend with back to back events but they were absolutely nothing short of spectacular.  Last month we shared this Peacock Plume inspiration board and followed up with the invitations that we designed for this 40/40 Event.  Here are fabulous photos from the event.  Some are mine (watermarked) and the rest are courtesy of RM Photography.  The couple was so happy with how everything turned out and the custom designed Step and Repeat was the hit of the party....read on for more details.  

Upon entry into the venue the guest were  greeted with a SED custom designed Step and Repeat for the "paparazzi" to get photographs of each guest. 

The theme of the night was 40/40 because both the husband and the wife turned 40 within two weeks of each other.  We set up a favor station featuring "40/40 Favorites" which included Captain Morgan's Rum and Golf Tees for the gentlemen and OPI (Favorite shades) and Purse Holders for the ladies. This was a HUGE hit!

The teal LED light gave a " chic club" feel to the room. 

We covered the fireplace with cylinder vases and candles for a dramatic effect. 

Saving the best for last...this GORGEOUS dessert table featuring a beautiful cake with orchid sugar flowers and Bedazzled Bon Bons. 

Team Sparkle

This party was such a delight to plan and it really came out even more beautiful than we could have ever imagined.  Thanks to my Lead Assistant - Misty for helping make this event spectacular and for putting up with Madame Sparkle for the night!
