{Real Party} Oh Boy Gumball Baby Shower

Wednesday, April 14, 2010

Today, I thought I would take a trip down memory lane.  Last year I partnered up with a friend of mine to plan and host a baby shower for our good friend.   We had so much fun planning this shower and it came together quite beautifully.  In fact, it was featured on the HWTM blog last year.  We drew lots of inspiration from Amy over at Stem Parties (she's fabulous!). Here are a few photos from the event.   Planning this event was one of the many events that I planned last year that led me to my decision to launch my own business.  I have a true passion for planning celebrations!
When we started off planning the event, we knew right away that we wanted it to be modern, different and completely reflective of the mommy to be.  Our friend's favorite color was orange, so we started with that to create the bright and cheerful event.   We found a beautiful art gallery that displayed children artwork as the perfect location for the shower.  Those two elements set the tone for the spectacular event.

I created the invitation and
added a cute sassy pregnant
lady stamp after printing.

The welcome table had a piggybank for guest to sign and crafting area for guest to make a page in the baby's scrapbook.  We placed her custom made (by my mommy) diaper cake in the center.
On the invitation we asked guest to bring a book to help start Baby Jayden's book collection, so I made labels resembling Oprah's Book Club logo for guests to sign and place in the book. He'll always know who the book came from. How sweet!
The centerpieces were filled with different color gumballs and we added a flower on top.

We opted to go with a bold orange color for the table linens. This made for a bright and inviting room.

For the placesetting we used scrapbook paper as the placemat (a really inexpensive idea and it can add some color to your table) with a napkin ring made with ribbon and circle punch. "Oh Boy".
The favors were mini turquoise gumball machines! So cute!

Delicious sweet treats and desserts!
The view of the room, the artwork made for such a beautiful background for this baby shower.

Happy Wednesday!
