{Wedding & Party Inspiration} Blueberry Lemonade Inspiration Board

Happy Monday!

This coming weekend we have the pleasure of designing and coordinating two events.  One of the events will be the "at home" wedding reception for our Negril bride.  The couple wanted the at home reception to be have elements of the bride's southern roots.   We are using lace, mason jars, doilies and just about anything else that reminds you of the south.  The main inspiration for this event are blue hydrangea.  This symbolizes a childhood memory for the bride of flowers that grew outside her grandmother’s home. The special “sparkle” to this is that we even arranged to have some of the flowers from her grandmother’s trees transported to this event!! Another special touch will be an old-fashioned lemonade stand with all of the fixings, so this inspiration board is so affectionately called...Blueberry Lemonade!

{Wedding Inspiration} Pink Champagne Inspiration Board

SED has had the wonderful opportunity of working with a lovely bride and groom for 9 months in planning and designing their very unique jazz brunch themed wedding set for this June. We are putting the “sparkling” touch on everything from the invitations, favors, and eloquent décor and I can't wait to see how everything manifests. The colors are watermelon and champagne, so without further adieu, I give you this inspiration board called Pink Champagne.

{Wednesday Inspiration} Cinco de Mayo Celebrations!

Cinco de Mayo is tomorrow, so I thought I would put together an inspiration board for Cinco de Mayo ideas for weddings and events.   I call it "Fiesta".  Short and simple!

{Wedding Inspiration} destination Paradise...

Happy Easter Monday!

Today's wedding inspiration board is called "destination Paradise..." Having just left paradise a few short weeks ago I'm definitely still loving all things 'tropical' and definitely 'paradise'.  There are a few items in this board that I'm loving...the use of driftwood for place-cards and the intimate beach wedding with guest sitting on overstuffed pillows.... divine!

{Wedding Inspiration} Floating Among Clouds

Last week we had the great honor and pleasure of coordinating a wedding in Negril, Jamaica that we've been working on for nearly 7 months.  This was our second destination wedding as a planner and it was absolutely beautiful.  We spent some extra days in Jamaica and while there I was so inspired by the beautiful island.  It is amazing what you notice when you actually take a few moments to "pause" in life.   From the luscious green countryside of rolling hills to the amazing sunsets and red sky, there was inspiration everywhere.  

One of my favorite sources of inspiration were the beautiful clouds I noticed while floating in the Caribbean Sea. So today's inspiration board comes from one of the photos that I took in Negril.  This inspiration board is called "Floating Among Clouds".  The center photo is a photo that I took and my great friend Nicole Koester of NKoester Photography & Design spruced up for me!  Thank you!

{Wedding Inspiration} Peacock Plume Wedding & Event Inspiration

Happy Monday! 

We've been working with a lovely couple to plan their grand 40th birthday celebration.  They have selected a peacock themed celebration with a modern flair.  The peacock theme color palette harmonizes the balance of male and female perfectly. We came up with this inspiration board for their celebration featuring some of their favorite things.  We have become known for our use of bold and beautiful colors, so this color palette of teal, lime green and vibrant blues is right up our alley.  We can't wait to see this inspiration come to reality.

{Wedding Inspiration} An Ode to Japan - Cherry Blossom Wedding Inspiration

The National Cherry Blossom Festival is in full effect here in Washington, D.C.  Anyone who has ever has the opportunity to visit the Tidal Basin during the cherry blossom season knows that it is absolutely beautiful and breathtaking.  This festival commemorates the anniversary of the gift of 3,000 cherry trees from the Mayor of Tokyo, Japan to our country in 1912.  The cherry blossom festival sparks the beginning of Spring season.  It serves as beautiful inspiration for weddings and all types of celebrations.

From Inspiration to Reality: Modern Vintage Wedding

This is by far one of the best "From Inspiration to Reality" wedding inspiration boards that I have seen over at Style Me Pretty!  Everything about this photo shoot screams glam!    It all started with this inspiration board submitted by Annie Packman.

Valentine's Day Sweethearts

With Valentine's Day upon us, I'm sure that there will be lots of fabulous events and weddings.  Celebrating love is one of the most easiest things to do.  You can go all out to a big party in the city or you can stay in with a simple reservation for two by the fireplace.  This year as a new mommy for the second time around, we will be staying home and celebrating Valentine's Day as a family of 4 for the 1st time!  

Valentine's Day is also a big day for the "BIG" question.  'Will you marry me?".....    These four words will change your lives forever.  There will be lots of proposals which will kickoff lots of planning for our newly engaged brides!   Let us know how we can help you!  Here is a lovely Valentine's Day inspiration board of course features a delicious red velvet cupcake.

Let It Snow... Blizzard 2010

I live in Northern Virginia just about 30 minutes outside of Washington D.C. and if you haven't heard we just had one of the largest blizzards of all time this area has ever since over the weekend.  We got nearly 3ft of snow.   Being snowed in and watching how beautiful the snow is got me thinking about winter weddings and how beautiful they are.  I know that June is the most popular wedding month of the year but a wedding can be quite beautiful during the winter months, even those with 2 feet of snow!  :)

For winter wedding we typically see lots of reds and green but again purples, navy's with accents of silver and white also make gorgeous choices.  Here's a little "Winterland" wedding eye candy.

Color of the Year 2010... Goes to Turquoise!!!!

Earlier this year Pantone announced the color of the year for 2010 and it's Turquoise! 

As written by Pantone: 

"Pantone is pleased to announce PANTONE 15-5519 Turquoise, an inviting, luminous hue, as the Color of the Year for 2010. Combining the serene qualities of blue and the invigorating aspects of green, Turquoise inspires thoughts of soothing, tropical waters and a comforting escape from the everyday troubles of the world, while at the same time restoring our sense of wellbeing." 

We are definitely seeing wedding trends in color with lots Turquoise for Spring and Summer weddings.  Brides are pairing turquoise with any number of colors including, coral, fuchsia and even RED!  Here is a little eye candy and inspiration for you.
